POLICE DEPARTMENT

DEPARTMENT MOTTO

The department motto, "Be Just and Fear Not" sets the tone of our values.   It admonishes each officer to be "Just" in the execution of his duties and the exercise of police authority.

DEPARTMENT MISSION

Police Chief Ron FoxA Word from Chief Ron Fox:  As indicated by our department motto, "Be Just and Fear Not", our department is strongly influenced by our values.  These values are the beliefs that guide our organization and the behavior of our employees.

This "philosophy" is our guide. We are proud to belong to this agency and to espouse these values:

  • Trust - The department, by it's actions, must earn and retain the trust of the community from which it's authority is derived.   The Carlisle Police Department is entrusted to maintain the quality of life in our community, and we are committed to that effort.

  • Objectivity - As individuals, the officers of the department must set aside personality and personal feelings to objectively perform their duty as police officers. We support and abide by the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics.

  • Access - We exist to provide a public service and are entrusted with providing fair and open access to these services by everyone regardless of race, color, religion, social or economical status.

  • Safety - In the balance between enforcement and citizen safety, we recognize the safety of our fellow citizens to be preeminent.

  • Teamwork - We recognize that the Police Department is but one of the many departments of our city government.  We believe in organizational teamwork, mutual support, and open communication to ensure effective and efficient services to the community.
