borrowed from another library.
- Open Access Program
- The
library also participates in the Open Access Program, whereby you may
check materials out of many public libraries in Iowa, free of charge.
- Computers: Several computers
are available at no charge and include access to the
internet. Word processing is also available for patron
use. The Job Service of Iowa database and the Des
Moines, Urbandale, Indianola Public Libraries and other

stop by.

Library Cards
-
Library cards may be
obtained, free of charge, by anyone living in the City of

Warren Counties.
-
Individuals who reside in
communities that do not have libraries or library services will
be charged a fee for a library card.
-
Individuals residing in
cities or towns served by a library that participates in the
"Open Access Program" may obtain a Carlisle
library card at no charge.
-
A parent or guardian's
signature is required for anyone under 18 years of age, before a
library card can be issued. The charge to replace a lost
card is $1.
Borrowing Library Materials:
Patron is responsible for everything checked out on his/her card.
Return Policy: Library
materials should be returned at the checkout desk if the library is
open. After hours, they may be put in the bookdrop at the end
of the library parking lot. Please do not return equipment,
cassette tapes, or CDs in the outside bookdrop.
Loan Period: Library
materials are loaned for two weeks with a seven day grace
period. Items may be renewed if no one has requested them.
Overdue Materials: After
the seven-day grace period, the fine is five (5) cents per item, per
day, with a maximum fine of $5 for all items due. The borrower
is responsible for all items checked out in his/her name.
Lost or Damaged Materials:
Because materials must be replaced by the library, fees must be
charged for lost or damaged materials. In most cases,
replacement cost of the lost or damaged materials will be charged.
