Summer Recreation Schedule 2012

Registration begins on Wednesday, May 23rd from 4-7pm at City Hall

Golf I - Beginners Golf will be offered again this year. The students will be transported to a driving range at Sleepy Hollow for 3 days. WE WILL NOT BE PLAYING THE COURSE THIS YEAR, AS IT IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.  Golfers need their own clubs, putter and tees.
Age: 9-14
Date: Tuesday, May 29th- May 31st (Make up day is Friday, June 1st)
Time: 9:30-11:30
Min/ Max: 6/14
Location: Meet at the High School to travel to Sleep Hollow.
Fee: $12.00 (Payable on first day. Cash or check made out to Sleepy Hollow)

Lil Farm Hands - Come join the staff at camp Wesley woods for a day on the farm! We’ll ride a tractor-drawn wagon out to the barn, where we’ll have a chance to pet and feed the animals-sheep, goats, chickens, horses and even a llama! Kids between 4-8  can enjoy a pony ride as well.  You’ll have a great time making lots of furry friends.

Horseback Riding I – Enjoy a morning riding the trails at Camp Wesley Woods.  The experienced Wranglers will instruct you on the proper riding techniques and how to handle a horse, before you hit the trail. Riders are asked to wear long pants and hard-soled shoes. Riding helmets are required and will be provided.

Fishing – How many fish can you catch?  Enjoy time with your friends and fish too.  Poles will be provided.

Kids in Motion - Get your bodies moving and grooving.  Enjoy a morning with fun and games.

Archery – Learn tips, skills and safety while having fun at Archery Field and Sports in Altoona.
Age: 9 & up

Canoeing- Learn the proper techniques of launching, landing, and exiting canoe.  Try to stay dry but plan accordingly.  All equipment including life jackets will be provided.

Survival Adventure  -  Learn and practice the skills of fire building and orienteering, then try your hand at building an emergency shelter.  This survival adventure will held at Annette Nature Center in Indianola.
