Mayor Randleman presided. The JANUARY 29, 2006 SCOTCH RIDGE CENTER STEERING
COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES were received and filed.
Garry and Kris Knapp of A Celtic Tradition requested permission to use
Scotch Ridge Center as the primary site and North Park as the alternate site for
the May 13, 2006 Central Iowa Celtic Festival. Contemporary Catering and Café,
Inc. of Carlisle will serve alcohol at the event under their off premises liquor
license and dram shop insurance. Security and on-site amenities will be provided and profits
will be split 50/50 with the City. Motion
by Shultz, seconded by Mahnke TO APPROVE USE OF THE SCOTCH RIDGE CENTER SITE AS
THE PRIMARY LOCATION FOR THE MAY 13, 2006 CENTRAL IOWA CELTIC FESTIVAL and to
approve a one-time event-specific permit for the sale of alcohol at the Scotch
Ridge Center site, subject to favorable review by the City Attorney carried
unanimously by roll call vote of those present.

by Shultz, seconded by Mahnke TO APPROVE USE OF NORTH MUNICIPAL PARK AS THE
ALTERNATE LOCATION FOR THE MAY 13, 2006 CENTRAL IOWA CELTIC FESTIVAL and to
approve a one-time event-specific permit for the sale of alcohol at North
Municipal Park subject to favorable review by the City Attorney. Motion carried
unanimously by roll call vote of those present.
A PROGRESS REPORT ON THE RECRUITMENT FOR THE
DEPUTY CLERK/TREASURER POSITION was presented.
Several of the best-qualified candidates have indicated salary
expectations higher than the current salary of $37,741.
It was the consensus of the Council that an offer of more than the
current salary for the position would be considered.
