CITY OF CARLISLE 
SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING 

Saturday, February 4, 2006 8:00 A.M. 
Carlisle City Hall Council Chamber 


Officials present were: Mayor Ruth Randleman and Council members Drew Merrifield, Douglas Hammerand, Eric Mahnke, Blair Dewey and Frank Shultz.  Mayor Randleman presided and called the meeting to order at 8:10 A.M.. 

The City Administrator explained that the purpose of the meeting was to continue the WORKSHOP ON THE 2006-07 BUDGET.  The preliminary revised general fund expenses requested by the departments are $1,404,886 and the preliminary revised general fund revenues are $1,404,886.   

The proposed property tax rate for general operations is $9.33139 per $1,000 of valuation which is less than the rate of $9.35789 per $1,000 of valuation in the 2005-06 budget and the total 2006-07 city tax rate which includes a debt service rate of $4.63858 per $1,000 to make an annual debt service levy of $400,489 is $13.96997 per $1,000 which is less than the total 2005-06 city rate of $13.98574 which included a debt rate of $4.62785 to make an annual debt levy of $394,668.  The public hearing on the 2006-07city budget is tentatively scheduled for Monday March 6, 2006 at 7:00 P.M.  

Motion by Merrifield, seconded by Hammerand to SET THE DATE OF MONDAY FEBRUARY 6, 2006 AT 7:00 P.M. FOR A special city council meeting carried on a 4-1 roll call vote: Merrifield – Aye, Hammerand – Aye, Dewey – Nay, Shultz – Aye, Mahnke - Aye.  

Motion by Shultz, seconded by Dewey TO ADJOURN AT 11:19 A.M. carried unanimously on roll call vote.
